A Pass Box Global leadership team consisting of Chief Executive Officer, Brian Cochrum, and Business Development Director, Jim Duggan, recently traveled to the Savannah, Georgia area to tour the Garden City Terminal of the Port of Savannah. The Georgia Ports Authority provided an informative and impressive peak into the approximately 1200 acre facility. This particular terminal is the largest single container terminal in all of North America and the fourth busiest container handling facility in the United States, and is expected to be a frequent handler of PASS Boxes both being imported and exported. The tour revealed exactly how a PASS Box™ would be loaded, unloaded, staged, and stacked, as well as different options for the various intermodal transit opportunities for the containers entering and exiting the Port grounds. The State of Georgia is fortunate to have the Savannah Port as an asset, and the PASS Box™ team reported that they could not have been more impressed with the management of the Port by the Georgia Ports Authority.
During the trip Mr. Cochrum and Mr. Duggan met with a selection of freight forwarders in the area in an effort to continue promotion of the PASS Box™ system. Also while in town, the two dropped in on an event hosted by the Savannah Maritime Association where many new connections were made ranging from potential vendors, distributors and customers. The response from those in attendance regarding their initial introduction to the PASS Box™ was a resounding sea of positive interest all around. The team will continue to follow up with these and other key routes to help support the successful growth and saturation of the PASS Box™ into the dry bulk supply chain market.
